I just tried to imagine the director/crew of the twilight movies while shooting on set, being all:

“ok, kristen, that was really good, but you know, I don’t think the viewer’s really gonna get how torn you are, can you run your hand through your hair some more during this shot?”

…..

“yeah, that was much better, but even though we want the audience see how emotional and crazy this stupid character is, let’s show it in a non-traditional way.  So what I want you to do is show no emotion whatsoever, yeah, just like that, so it’s ironic.  and play with your hair more.”
